This is the big one. Mission Creek is poised to become THE trail in the Twin Ports. Upon completion over 20 miles of amazing single track will grace the jagged topography of the region. Riders will enjoy towering White Pines, steep river bank overlooks and vast, under growth-free tracts of lush forest. Immediately adjacent to Jay Cooke State Park, Mission Creek will serve as the far western terminus of the Duluth Traverse system. As of fall 2016 there are nearly 20 miles of trail in Mission. Including a very special section. VERY special.
Parking is usually most convenient at Chambers Grove Park in tiny Fond Du Lac- see “location map” above. More close proximity parking can be found just across the river at Mont Du Lac. However, as this system expands, more options will become available. A great place to park is the Buffalo House. From here you can easily access the trail system and you can eat and imbibe after the ride! They have camping too!
PARKING UPDATE – There is a major construction project currently underway in Chamber’s Grove (usual parking for this system). Please refrain from entering Chamber’s Grove on bike or in your car! Parking can be found nearby:
– Fond du Lac Park alongside 131st Ave W. Please do not impede neighborhood traffic!
